DescriptionThe whole story▼

Some of the most irritating falls happen with nobody on the bike. You stop for a drink at the edge of a field, flick down the side stand of the Beta RR 390 four-stroke and walk away, and the stand slowly presses into the soft ground until the bike leans past the point of no return. It goes over to the left, the side the stand is on, and the clutch lever takes the landing. Accossato's C7283, a folding clutch lever for the RR 390 four-stroke from 2015 to 2022, is made with a joint for moments like that. It is CNC-machined from Ergal 7075 and has the long blade Accossato draws for four fingers.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the Beta RR 390 four-stroke, 2015 to 2022
  • Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mount
  • Joint that lets the blade fold forward if the bike lands on it
  • Long blade with space for four fingers
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Blade in black, blue, orange or red above a dark base
  • No German ABE; for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato cuts the C7283 on CNC machines in Italy from a solid piece of Ergal 7075, an aluminium alloy picked for its high strength. Working from the full block is its route to a lever that is strong, light and reliable. Two parts result: a dark base that stays at the clutch pivot, and the coloured blade, which is carried on a folding joint. Being a clutch lever, it is long enough for four fingers to wrap round it.

When the Side Stand Sinks

Soft ground is the usual culprit: loam after rain, sand, a grassy bank above a ditch, the churned earth of a paddock. Riders who have been caught once start looking for a flat stone to put under the foot of the stand, or lean the bike against a tree instead. Still, sooner or later it happens to everyone, often at the very moment you have turned your back.

A standing fall is slow, but the whole weight of the RR 390 four-stroke comes down on its left side, and the clutch lever is often the first thing to touch the ground. A solid lever can snap on a stone or bend beyond use. The joint on the C7283 gives the blade the option of folding forward instead, which improves the odds that it survives. Nothing is guaranteed, and a sharp rock in the wrong place can still damage it, but a lever that has folded out of harm's way is a far better thing to find than a broken stub when you walk back to the Beta RR 390 four-stroke.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the C7283 for the Beta RR 390 four-stroke from 2015 to 2022, in place of the standard lever at the clutch mount, and pairs it with the B8206 folding brake lever for the same years. If you would like the controls to pick up the red of your Beta's plastics, both levers are made in red. Black and blue are shared too, while orange is offered only on the clutch lever.

Road Approval

The C7283 carries no German ABE. It is intended for off-road use and competition; on an RR 390 four-stroke registered for the road it is not approved for public roads.

Scope of Delivery

A single C7283 clutch lever, dark base and blade in the colour you pick.
