DescriptionThe whole story▼
A light single-cylinder motorcycle feels a passenger far more than a big bike does. Put a second person on the back of a CB300F and the load it carries grows by a large share, the engine has to work harder to get moving, and every jerky gear change is passed straight on to the helmet behind you. Most of that is handled by the left hand. Accossato's ESH250 is a clutch lever for the Honda CB300F of 2015 to 2018, machined from aluminium and adjustable in its distance to the grip.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda CB300F and CB300FA, 2015 to 2018
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable reach
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) or long blade
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub; blade in seven possible colours
- Rigid, one-piece lever
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The ESH250 is milled from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised once its shape is finished. That gives it two tones: a black hub, in which the pivot and the reach adjuster are housed, and a blade in the colour of your choice. Anodising builds the colour into the surface of the metal instead of laying it on top, so rings, zips and glove seams do not scrape it away from a CB300F that is ridden every day. The lever is fixed and in one piece, with no joint that could develop play.
Two Up on a Small Single
Pulling away with a passenger on a CB300F calls for a little more of everything: slightly more revs, a slightly longer slip of the clutch and a good deal more patience in the release. Let the lever out too quickly and the single bogs down or the bike lurches, and your passenger's helmet meets yours. Hold the friction point for a moment while the drive takes up, then release the rest of the travel smoothly as the bike begins to roll. Gear changes deserve the same care. Ask your passenger to sit still and lean with you, and change up with a smooth release rather than a snap, so the brief break in drive does not rock the two of you back and forth. On a hill, brakes, throttle and clutch all have to work together, which is a lot to ask of a hand that is stretching for its lever. Set the reach so the blade sits under your fingers when the hand rests on the grip; the long blade keeps the pull light on a day with many starts.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH250 for the F and the FA versions of this Honda, and it fits the original clutch mounting on both. This product covers the CB300F from 2015 to 2018. The EDF025 brake lever is listed for the same bikes, so both ends of the handlebar can be finished alike. Keep in mind that the long blade is not made in black, red or silver.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the ESH250, which is why it is offered for track use.
