DescriptionThe whole story▼

Triumph added the Roadster to the Rocket III family in 2010 and kept what made the name famous: a 2.3-litre three-cylinder engine lying lengthways in the frame and a shaft carrying the drive to the rear wheel. A motorcycle with that much mass asks a lot of the hand that slows it down, and more still when the light is poor. For the Rocket III Roadster of 2010 to 2016, Accossato makes the EDF014, a machined aluminium brake lever that fits the original master cylinder and lets you choose its distance from the grip.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever for the Triumph Rocket III Roadster, 2010 to 2016
  • Mounts on the original master cylinder in place of the stock lever
  • Reach to the grip set with an adjuster beside the pivot
  • Standard blade approximately 138 mm; short and long versions in selected colours
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Black hub, blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green
  • Rigid from hub to tip, no folding joint
  • No German ABE on record; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The EDF014 takes its shape on CNC machines rather than in a casting mould, and it is anodised once the machining is done. On every version the hub, where the pivot and the reach adjuster sit, comes out black, and only the blade carries the colour you choose. Anodising does not add a coat to the metal. It turns the outer layer of the aluminium itself into a hard oxide that holds the dye, so there is no paint to chip. From pivot to tip the lever is one rigid part, and finger pressure reaches the master cylinder without passing through a hinge.

Riding Into a Low Sun

Summer evenings are prime time for a bike like the Rocket III Roadster, and many memorable rides end with the road pointing west, just as the sun hangs low ahead. Glare hides the brake lights of the car in front, turns a junction into a bright blur and makes a shaded stretch of road look darker than it is. Slowing down, leaving a longer gap and keeping a tinted visor to hand are the first answers. The lever has its part in the moment you finally see what the glare concealed. If the blade sits where your fingers already rest, braking starts at once; if it sits a stretch away, the first fraction of your reaction goes into reaching for it, and on a machine as heavy as the Roadster that fraction becomes distance. Set the reach in the gloves you wear on warm evenings; the standard blade, closest to the original, suits most hands.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF014 for the Rocket III Roadster from 2010 to 2016, under the name ROCKET III 2300 ROADSTER, and it replaces the stock lever on the original master cylinder. Other Rocket III versions are not part of this listing. On the left, Accossato's EST333 clutch lever covers the Roadster over the same years, so both levers can share one colour.

Road Approval

No German ABE is documented for the EDF014 on the Rocket III Roadster, so we offer it for track use.
