DescriptionThe whole story▼
The name Eldorado belongs to Moto Guzzi's history: in the early 1970s it was carried by the 850 Eldorado, a big touring twin that also served with police forces in the United States. The Eldorado of 2015 revived the name on the California 1400 platform, with spoked wheels, whitewall tyres and plenty of chrome. The Accossato EDF023 is a brake lever for this Eldorado from 2015 to 2020. It uses the existing master cylinder, and an adjuster at the hub sets the gap between blade and grip.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Moto Guzzi Eldorado 1400, listed 2015 to 2020
- Works with the original front master cylinder
- Adjustable reach to the grip
- Silver blade in standard or short length; black in standard
- All seven colours in the standard length of approximately 138 mm
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
- Fixed blade with no folding joint
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts this lever from solid aluminium on CNC machines and anodises it afterwards. The hub, holding the pivot and the adjuster, is always black. The blade carries the colour, and on a bike like the Eldorado, silver and black are the obvious candidates. Anodised silver has a soft, satin sheen rather than the mirror of chrome, so the lever does not compete with the polished parts around it. The blade is a single rigid piece with no hinge, running straight from the hub to the tip.
Classic Lines, Quiet Colours
Retro bikes look right when the details belong to the same period, and the Eldorado's cockpit already tells a story in chrome, polished metal and black. A silver EDF023 blends with the bright parts, while a black one reads as part of the switchgear and leaves the attention on the tank and the wheels. Both keep the classic mood intact. A strongly coloured blade would work as well, though it draws the eye to the handlebar; blue, gold, green and orange are made in all three lengths if that is the plan. Colour remains a matter of taste, and there is no wrong answer. The practical side still applies: silver comes in standard and short lengths, black in the standard length only, and whichever you choose, set the reach so the lever meets your fingers while the arm stays relaxed. On a big cruiser like the Eldorado, a comfortable hand makes smooth, early braking much easier to achieve.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this lever for the Eldorado 1400 from 2015 to 2020, where it replaces the original blade on the bike's own front master cylinder. The clutch side has its own Accossato part for the same Eldorado years, the ESC023, so both levers can share a silver or black finish.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the EDF023. For that reason, it is sold for track use.
Scope of Delivery
