Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Voge Valico DSX (2025–2026) CM251S

Between the oldest entry on this part number and the newest, the engine grew. Five hundred cubic centimetres in 2020, 525 from 2023, 625 for the Valico DSX of 2025 and 2026 — and the filter never changed with it. CM251S is the element for all of them, which tells you how an air filter is actually specified: by the housing it seals into, and with enough capacity in hand for the largest engine that housing will ever have to feed.

Sized for the biggest engine in the group

A larger engine moves more air per minute, so the same element sees a higher face velocity on the 625 than it ever did on the 500. That is precisely what surface area is for. Flow is rated per square metre — 5,050 litres per square metre per second — which means the way to keep resistance low without opening the weave is to give the air more cloth to pass through, and roughly double the usual area is what Sprint Filter puts into this housing. It is also why the honest description of the part is modest: a drop-in element does not make a standard Valico DSX noticeably stronger. It keeps a restriction low and resettable, which is a maintenance argument rather than a performance one.

If the use changes, the medium can

The same airbox is served by two other Sprint Filter elements, and both are trades rather than upgrades. CM251S F1-85 is the racing medium: 85 µm and 15,000 l/m²/sec, built to move far more air where the environment is controlled and the service interval is a session, not a season. CM251T12 goes the other way, 7 µm and 560 l/m²/sec, for extreme dust. The P08 in this listing sits between them, and for a road machine that also sees loose surfaces from time to time, between them is where it should sit.

Care and cleaning

Servicing the CM251S means an air line and a few minutes: blow through the element from its clean side so the dirt is expelled outward, then look at it against the light. Water is only needed when air is not enough — lukewarm, with a mild detergent, rinsed until it runs clear and then dried fully in open air.
