Outer diameter sets the lever the oil works against, and thickness sets the resistance. Shims are reused only if they are undamaged and flat; a coned shim is finished. A worn or bent shim shows up as damping that has quietly drifted from the setting sheet.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.

Getting the Number Right

Order under 10526-16. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. A coned or marked shim is finished — it no longer seals against its neighbour. Outer diameter sets the lever the oil works against; thickness sets how hard it resists.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 10526-16

Category: Shims

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/10526-16_b2372ed2-6789-4b73-bd7b-645ab9aab95d.png?v=1788875857
