DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale V4 S, built from 2018 to 2020 alongside the base V4, adds electronic suspension to the same superbike platform, and riders who spend long sessions on one often find that getting the clip-on position exactly right matters as much as any suspension setting. Melotti Racing's Top Yoke, PS.DU.318, replaces the factory steering plate on this Panigale V4 S with a version built from the same R&D work behind the plate Melotti raced on the V4 R in World Superbike with the Barni team, and it includes a vernier scale purpose-built for dialling in that clip-on position precisely.
Key Features
- Top yoke for the Ducati Panigale V4 S, 2018 to 2020

- High-magnesium aluminium alloy, machined from billet by CNC and 3D technology
- Vernier scale for fine clip-on position adjustment
- Engraved "V4 SUPERBIKE" and Melotti Racing R&D branding
- Titanium PRO-BOLT fasteners included
- Designed to pair with the standard lower steering plate
- Reduced chattering and improved front-end feel under braking
Construction and Material Quality
Melotti machines the PS.DU.318 from a high-magnesium aluminium alloy, taken from billet using CNC machines together with 3D machining technology, and describes the resulting structure as an adaptive geometry that stays rigid under braking loads while flexing slightly to absorb lateral stress. On this V4 S, titanium PRO-BOLT fasteners with truncated-cone heads complete the assembly, and both the black and natural anodised versions carry the "V4 SUPERBIKE" engraving alongside the Melotti Racing R&D logo used on its World Superbike-supplied parts.
Dialling In Rider Position
The vernier scale built into the PS.DU.318's clip-on mounts is a small detail with an outsized effect on comfort over a long session, letting a rider move the bars in fine, repeatable steps rather than guessing at a new position each time the clamps are loosened. On a V4 S used for both trackdays and occasional road riding, getting that position right once, and being able to return to it exactly after cleaning or servicing the front end, saves time that would otherwise go into trial and error with a tape measure. The same adaptive-geometry plate also carries over Melotti's claimed reduction in chattering under hard braking.
Fitment and Compatibility
Melotti's price list names the PS.DU.318 for the V4, the V4 S and the V4 R across 2018 to 2020, and our listing for the V4 S follows that range. Melotti's website gives slightly different end years for the V4 S and V4 R than the price list does; we have gone with the price list here. The yoke pairs with the bike's standard lower steering plate.
Road Approval
Melotti holds no ABE, German parts certificate or EC type-approval for this yoke, and neither do we. It is intended for racing and other closed-circuit use; using it on a V4 S ridden on German public roads without a documented entry is not permitted, and any event you enter follows the organiser's own technical rules.
Scope of Delivery
You receive the complete PS.DU.318 top yoke with its titanium fasteners, in the finish you choose. The standard lower steering plate remains on the bike and is not included.
