DescriptionThe whole story▼
The EVO adds semi-active WP suspension to the Superduke R's already sharp chassis, and the JP ACCGP KT016 matches that sharpness at the throttle. Fitted to the 1290 Superduke R EVO (2020-2023), it shortens the rotation to 60 degrees so hand input keeps pace with suspension that is already adjusting itself mid-corner.
Key Features
- KTM 1290 Superduke R EVO (2020–2023)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
A Chassis That Reacts Faster Than Most
The EVO's semi-active damping reads the road and adjusts itself several times a second, which raises the bar for every other input on the bike. A throttle with a long, vague rotation is the weak link in that chain; shortening it closes the gap between what the suspension can do and what the rider's hand asks it to do.
Billet Construction, Repeatable Feel
Machined from solid Ergal 7075 instead of cast, the housing holds the same internal tolerances from the first unit to the thousandth. On a bike whose electronics already compensate for road surface, a throttle body that behaves identically every time removes one more variable from a fast corner exit.
Preload for Semi-Active Riding
The progressive spring's preload adjusts externally in three stages, useful on the EVO because Comfort and Sport suspension settings already change how the chassis reacts; matching the throttle's own resistance to that mode lets a rider keep a consistent hand feel whichever setting the dampers are running.
Where the EVO Gets Ridden Hardest
Owners who choose the EVO over the standard R are usually chasing a sharper tool for fast, technical roads rather than outright top speed. That is exactly where a shorter throttle throw earns its keep, since fine metering through a string of linked corners matters more than it does on a straight.
The 60-Degree Sweep in Practice
Reducing the stock rotation to 60 degrees means full throttle arrives with noticeably less wrist movement, which keeps the hand's grip on the bar more constant through a corner exit rather than shifting as the wrist rotates to reach the stop.
Back to Stock Without a Trace
Should the bike change hands or go in for warranty work, the original throttle body bolts straight back into the same mounts this one occupies. The only extra step is letting the ECU relearn throttle position afterwards, a routine part of any throttle body swap on this platform.
