DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born on the grids of WorldSBK, BSB and the BMW HP4 Race programme, the Brembo GP4-PR Monoblock brake caliper represents the pinnacle of racing brake engineering. This left-hand unit, machined to a 108 mm mounting pitch, brings genuine top-tier championship pedigree to your track machine — a caliper whose lineage is written in lap records, not marketing copy.
Key Features
- Monoblock aluminium construction eliminates the flex inherent in two-piece designs, delivering a rigid, consistent lever feel even under repeated heavy braking at the limit.
- Four titanium pistons — two at 32 mm and two at 36 mm — combine low thermal conductivity with exceptional stiffness, protecting fluid temperature and maintaining pad contact pressure throughout a race stint.
- Central bridge design adds a further layer of torsional rigidity, reducing caliper body distortion under peak braking load and preserving disc contact geometry.
- Proven in the world's most demanding production-based racing series: WorldSBK, British Superbike Championship and the BMW HP4 Race platform.
- Compact, lightweight design at approximately 630 g per caliper, keeping unsprung mass in check without any compromise to structural integrity.
- Compatible with all forks using a 108 mm mounting hole pitch — covering an exceptionally wide range of supersport and superbike platforms.
Heritage and Design
The GP4-PR carries Brembo's racing DNA in its very architecture. Where road-derived calipers make concessions to cost and manufacturability, the GP4-PR monoblock is CNC-machined from a single billet of high-grade aluminium — a process that creates an uninterrupted load path from pad to mounting ear. The result is a caliper that feels immediate and progressive in equal measure: there is no dead travel, no sponginess, no ambiguity about what the front tyre is doing.
The titanium piston specification is a deliberate choice drawn from prototype racing. Titanium conducts heat roughly six times less efficiently than steel, keeping brake fluid cooler across extended sessions and substantially reducing the risk of vapour lock under the extreme thermal cycles of a trackday or endurance race.
Performance and Track Use
This caliper is designed exclusively for circuit use and carries no road homologation. In that environment it excels: the four-piston layout with staggered diameters (32 mm leading, 36 mm trailing) applies a progressive, controlled clamping force across the full pad face, distributing heat evenly and extending pad life during intensive use. Pair it with Brembo's own sintered or carbon compound pads — sourced separately — to realise its full potential.
For bleeding and maintenance, Brembo recommends bleed screw part number 05281213 and protective cap with tab part number 05150220, ensuring the hydraulic circuit remains clean and air-free between sessions.
