DescriptionThe whole story▼
The peak power does not change. 92.6 PS standard, 92.6 PS with this silencer fitted — Akrapovic measured it and publishes it, and so does this page. What changes is the middle: 2.6 PS and 3.5 Nm more at 4,500 rpm, which on a 1,084 cc twin used for touring and dirt is the only part of the rev range that gets used all day.
Key Features
- 3.69 kg against the standard 5.5 kg: 1.81 kg and 32.9 per cent less
- 2.6 PS (1.9 kW) and 3.5 Nm more at 4,500 rpm — the gain is mid-range, not peak
- Peak torque 108.4 Nm against the standard 106.1 Nm
- Double-flow outlet, two exits from one muffler, in the shape Honda's own design language calls for
- Titanium outer sleeve with a carbon fibre end cap
- Compatible with Honda's original cases and the centre stand, so a fully equipped Adventure Sports stays fully equipped
- EC and ECE type approved, noise insert included
Why Peak Power Is Not the Point
An Africa Twin is geared and mapped for torque low down. Honda's own peak is at high revs but the bike is ridden between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm on any real journey, and that is where this system adds its 3.5 Nm. Quoting an unchanged peak figure looks worse in an advertisement and is more useful to the rider — which is why it is stated here rather than buried.
The double-flow outlet is part of the same reasoning: two smaller exits keep gas velocity up at low flow rates instead of trading low-rev response for a top-end number the bike will rarely see.
Fully Loaded Still Works
Honda's aluminium cases and the centre stand are the two accessories most Adventure Sports owners fit, and they are the two things an aftermarket silencer most often prevents. This one is dimensioned around both. Nothing comes off to make it fit.
Where the 1.81 Kilograms Come From
Honda's standard silencer on the 2024 Africa Twin is a large double-skinned steel unit, and at 5.5 kg it is one of the heaviest single components a rider can remove without touching the engine or the frame. Replacing the outer sleeve with titanium and the end cap with carbon fibre takes a third of it away, and all of that is unsprung-adjacent mass high on the right-hand side — the side the bike falls onto more often than not.
The insert is removable, the header and catalytic converter stay standard, and no remapping is required. Fitting takes about half an hour and reverses just as quickly.
