DescriptionThe whole story▼
In a well-run pit box the brake is treated as a system rather than a part. New pads go in with fresh fluid, the circuit is bled properly, the lever is set where the rider's fingers want it, and only then does anyone discuss compounds. Accossato's AGPA106 front pads for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory of 2019 to 2024 are offered in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, the ceramic member of the company's competition line.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing front pads for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, 2019 to 2024
- Accossato AGPA106; a box equips one caliper, and two are fitted at the front of this Aprilia
- Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- For track days, test sessions and club competition
- The same pad also comes in sintered, EV1 and EV2 versions
- Rear pads for this bike: AGPA42, listed from 2019 to 2025
- Accossato disc reference for the model: DKS032
- No German ABE or test mark on record; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's shorthand for this material is a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and it stands beside the two EV mixes at the competition end of the catalogue. What a ceramic pad offers a rider is repeatability once it is working, which counts for more across a weekend than any single stop does. The firm's stated aims run through this compound as they do through the rest of the range: firm retardation, wear kept within reason, and a friction material that does not let its own temperature escape. On an RSV4 1100 Factory the two front calipers should always be treated as one unit, with the same compound on both sides fitted on the same day, or the bike will pull under heavy braking.
Before the First Session
Fitting pads in a paddock is quick; preparing them is the part people skip. Push the pistons back slowly with a clean face against them, watch the reservoir as the fluid rises, and wipe away anything that escapes, since brake fluid does paintwork no favours at all. Once the caliper is together, pump the lever until it is solid, then pump it again after the bike has been lifted and the wheel spun. A lever that comes back to a different place each time is telling you there is air in the system.
The out-lap then has a job of its own. Bring the pads up gradually with a series of firm but unhurried stops, give them a lap to settle, and only then start using the reference points you wrote down last time out. If you swap pads between sessions, plan for that warm-up instead of assuming the new set will behave exactly like the one you removed. Riders who run an RSV4 1100 Factory across a full weekend often prepare a second set in advance, so the change costs minutes rather than a session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue puts the AGPA106 on the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory from 2019 to 2024, with the AGPA42 at the rear from 2019 to 2025. Each front caliper takes one box. Compare the pad you remove with the one you are fitting before the caliper closes, and study the disc surface while everything is apart; the DKS032 is the Accossato disc listed for this machine if a replacement is required.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for this pad in our records, and no test mark either, so it is supplied for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
One box, two AGPA106 pads in the ZXC compound, sufficient for a single front caliper.
