DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato 19x20 sits at the firmer end of the radial brake range: a 19 mm piston built to feed a dual-disc front brake evenly, combined with a 20 mm pivot distance that Accossato specifically does not recommend for street use. The larger gap between the pivot point and the pumping axis shortens the lever stroke for the same hand movement, but it also asks for noticeably more hand force to reach full braking power, which is why Accossato positions this configuration for track riders rather than daily road use. The Revolution lever's reach adjusts by adding or removing the supplied insert, and the body is finished in black anodising with the lever offered in a choice of colours.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • 20 mm fixed lever pivot distance, the shortest-stroke setting in the range, not recommended for street use
  • Revolution-type lever with reach adjustment by inserting or removing the supplied insert
  • Lever supplied in a choice of colours, matched by an adjusting knob in the same shade
  • CNC-machined aluminium body with a black anodised finish
  • Offset riser that reduces bending of the master cylinder body under hard braking
  • Passive lever stroke shortened by more than 50 percent against a standard radial unit
  • Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals

Construction and Material Quality

Like the rest of the Accossato radial range, the 19x20 starts life as forged aluminium, CNC machined and then finished in black anodising in Italy. Stainless steel is specified for the mounting screws, the bleed valve is zinced steel, and the internal seals use Formula 1 compound so they keep sealing through sustained heat and continued brake fluid contact. An offset riser is built into the mounting clamp to limit flex of the body when the lever is pulled hard, a trait that matters even more here given the firmer, more direct feel the 20 mm pivot produces. Internal passages are shaped to cut the passive stroke, the lag between pulling the lever and the pads actually biting, by more than half compared with a standard radial master cylinder, and hoses connect through the usual M10x1 thread.

Why the 20 mm Pivot Suits Track-Only Riding

The two numbers in the 19x20 designation describe a piston sized for dual-disc use and a pivot distance set deliberately toward the firm end of the scale. With a 19 mm piston, enough fluid moves to apply two callipers evenly, which matters on bikes where the front brake has to do most of the work. The 20 mm pivot distance increases the leverage ratio between the point where the lever rotates and the point where it pushes the piston: for the same force applied by hand, the lever travel shortens, but reaching full braking power demands more hand strength than a shorter pivot would. Accossato is explicit that this setting is the prompter version of the range and is not recommended for street use, which makes it a deliberate choice for riders prioritising circuit response over everyday ease at the lever.

Fitment and Compatibility

Our fitment data confirms 65 motorcycles for this master cylinder, drawn from Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda and Kawasaki, among them the Aprilia RSV4 RF (2015-2023), BMW S1000RR (2009-2023), Ducati Panigale V4 (2018-2023), Honda CBR 1000 RR (2008-2019) and Kawasaki ZX-10 R (2006-2023). Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato 19x20 radial brake master cylinder fitted with the Revolution lever and its reach-adjustment insert, in the lever colour selected, together with the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinced bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
