DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati launched the Scrambler 800 in 2015 as a bike meant to be personalised, and many owners have taken that literally: seats, lights and above all handlebars get changed, from low flat-track bars to taller ones on risers. Each change moves the grips, and with them the point where your hand meets the brake lever. The Accossato EDB012 is a CNC-machined brake lever for the Scrambler 800, mounted on the original master cylinder, with a reach adjuster that can follow those changes.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Scrambler 800, listed for 2015 to 2017 and 2019
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Adjustable distance to the grip, useful after a handlebar change
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm; short and long blades in selected colours
- CNC-machined from solid aluminium
- Anodised: black hub, blade in one of seven colours
- Fixed design without a folding joint
- No German ABE documented, sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The EDB012 is not cast. Accossato machines it from solid aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises the result, leaving the hub black and colouring the blade. A machined lever holds its shape and section consistently from pivot to tip, and anodising means there is no paint layer to lift at the edges. The lever is fixed, with no joint along the blade, and its reach adjuster is placed in the hub beside the pivot.
When the Handlebar Changes
A higher bar or a riser brings the grips up and back and changes the angle between your forearm and the lever; a lower, flatter bar does the opposite. Either way, the original lever position may no longer suit you. The first thing to reset is the angle of the brake assembly on the bar, as far as the hose allows, and then the reach of the EDB012, so that the blade sits under the first joints of your fingers when you are seated normally. Any bar change that affects the brake line should be checked by someone who knows the job, since the hose needs enough length at full lock in both directions. Once that is done, the adjustable lever is what makes the new position on the Scrambler 800 feel natural rather than borrowed.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDB012 for the Scrambler 800 from 2015 to 2017 and again for 2019; 2018 does not appear on its list for this lever. For 2019, the listing excludes the Café Racer, for which Accossato names the EDD001, listed for Café Racers of 2017 to 2019. On the clutch side, Accossato has the ESD082 for 2015 to 2017 bikes and the ESD022 for 2019, with the ESH011 for the 2019 Café Racer.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented, and this brake lever is therefore sold for use on the track.
