The years matter more than usual on this one. Sprint Filter lists the standard P08 and the fine P14 for the 990 Duke R from 2024, and it lists this element for 2026. That is what the price list says and it is what we sell from. An entry missing from earlier years is not a claim that the part would refuse to go in, but it is the difference between a catalogued fitment and a guess, and a guess is not something a shop should pass on to a customer.

Why the windows differ

A price list records what a manufacturer has specified and released, medium by medium and model year by model year, and those records are not obliged to line up. Four media are offered for this airbox and their coverage is not identical: the machines listed differ, and so do the years. None of that is visible from the outside of a filter, which is why the code and the year, not the shape of the part, are what identify it. On this row the practical instruction is simply to confirm the model year first.

And whether it belongs there

Separately from the ordering question sits the buying one. The additional rate this weave makes available is collected at wide-open throttle high in the rev range, which occupies seconds of a road ride and a great deal more of a race. For road use the standard P08 remains the sounder purchase, at a fraction of what this one asks. Neither of them makes a standard 990 Duke R quicker — no element in an unmodified airbox does — and the real return in both cases is an intake resistance that can be reset instead of renewed.

Care and cleaning

Blow the PM175S F1-85 through from the clean side outward, so what the weave arrested departs by the face that arrested it. Anything that will not leave dry comes away in lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, rinsed until the run-off is clear. Then open air, moving if possible, until it is dry the whole way through; heat guns, radiators and flames all ruin polyester and none of them belongs in this routine.
