Where It Sits
Dimensionally this is 14 mm, 33 mm, 5 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Ordering the small parts with the seal kit saves the second delivery that most rebuilds otherwise need. Spacers are machined rather than cut, so the ends are square and the load is even. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once.
Why the Original
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
Identifying the Right Part
Part number 21028-05 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. The published dimensions are dimension a 14 mm, dimension b 33 mm, dimension c 5 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
