DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ESR 015 answers for the Ninja H2's electronic steering damper once a manual unit takes its place.
Key Features
- Kawasaki Ninja H2 (2015–2024)
- Answers for the electronic steering damper
- No warning on the instrument panel
- Plugs into Kawasaki's own connector
- For a conversion to a mechanical damper
- Standard damper refits at any time
Ohlins Electronic Damper
Fitted as standard and varying with speed. On a motorcycle with this much power and this much torque it is not optional equipment.
Nothing Else Comes Close
Whatever one thinks of the H2, no other manufacturer has put a supercharged engine into a production motorcycle and made it work.
An Electronically Managed Damper
Kawasaki varies steering damping with speed and with what the inertial platform reports, firmer where stability matters and lighter where it does not. It is a genuinely useful system on a fast motorcycle.
The Load It Expects
This unit presents it, so the check passes and nothing is stored. Everything else on the motorcycle continues entirely unaffected.
Reversible
Refit the standard damper, unplug the eliminator and the electronic control works exactly as it did from the factory.
A Light Front End
Two hundred horsepower and a short wheelbase produce loads at the bars that a road motorcycle does not normally see. The damper is not an optional refinement on these machines.
A Sealed Emulator
Potted rather than open, so the connector stays as protected from water as it was with the original actuator fitted.
A Road Bike With Race Loads
The H2 carries a registration plate and produces forces at the handlebar that ordinary road motorcycles never approach. Kawasaki fitted the electronic damper because the combination demanded it, which is worth understanding before deciding to replace it with something fixed.
A Trellis Around a Supercharger
Kawasaki wrapped high-tensile steel tubing around the blown engine and chose the flex characteristics deliberately. It is one of the most distinctive chassis anybody builds and it behaves unlike a twin spar in every way that matters.
