DescriptionThe whole story▼

A rock step on a hard-enduro trail looks simple from below: a ledge, a short run-up and a moment of commitment. On a Beta RR 250 2T, a light two-stroke with plenty of snap, the throttle does its part, but what actually lifts the bike up is the rider's weight moving at the right moment, and all of that movement passes through the footpegs. Accossato makes enlarged Ergal footpegs for the RR 250 2T of 2020 to 2022, in orange, blue or black.

Key Features

  • Enlarged off-road footpegs for the Beta RR 250 2T, 2020 to 2022
  • Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
  • Wider support for the boot on technical ground
  • Made for motocross, enduro and off-road bikes
  • Orange, blue or black
  • Pair of pegs for left and right
  • Same set listed for the RR 300 2T, RR 350 4T and RR 430 4T
  • No ABE available; for competition

Construction and Material Quality

Ergal, the material Accossato names for these pegs, is a high-strength aluminium alloy. The company describes them as enlarged footpegs for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles and says nothing further about their design. What an enlarged peg changes is plain enough: there is more room under the boot. On a two-stroke enduro like the RR 250 2T, which spends much of its life being ridden standing, that extra support is used on every section. The pair comes in a single colour of your choice, orange, blue or black.

Up a Rock Step

The usual technique for a step goes like this. Approach standing, in a low gear, with the weight slightly back. Just before the front wheel reaches the edge, give a burst of throttle and pull the handlebar towards you so the front tyre lifts onto the ledge. As it lands, move the body forward sharply over the front, pushing through the feet with the knees bent, so the rear wheel is unloaded and can climb after it. If the engine stalls halfway, the rear brake holds the bike while you decide what to do next.

The second half of the move is where the footpegs work hardest. The rider's body is travelling forward quickly while the bike tilts upward, and a boot that slides off a peg at that moment usually means a fall backwards. A broader surface does not replace good boots or good timing, but it gives the sole more to push against where it matters most. Practise on low steps first and let the height grow with confidence; on a bike as light as the RR 250 2T, small ledges are a good place to build the timing.

Fitment and Compatibility

We have placed this set on the RR 250 2T of 2020 to 2022. Accossato's application list names the RR 250 from 2020 onwards, so if your two-stroke is a later model, send us its details before ordering. The same pair is also listed for the RR 300 2T and for the RR 350 4T and RR 430 4T four-strokes. When fitting, clean the pivots, grease them lightly and check that the pegs spring back up after folding.

Road Approval

There is no German ABE and no other approval certificate available to us for this set. We sell it for enduro competition and other motorsport.
