DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most riders are right-handed, and on a motorcycle the left hand gets the lever that asks for the steadier hold. On a Panigale V4 S the clutch is not in constant use, but when it is needed, at a standstill, in slow traffic or in a tight turn, it asks for fine control from the less practised hand. The Accossato ESH011 is an aluminium clutch lever for the V4 S of 2018 to 2020, replacing the original lever on its stock mounting, with a reach that can be adjusted.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Panigale V4 S, 2018 to 2020
- Replaces the original lever on the standard mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Long blade in blue, gold, green and orange for a lighter pull
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm in all colours
- Machined from solid aluminium, black anodised hub
- Fixed, one-piece blade
- Track use only, no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
The black hub of the ESH011 is where the mechanics sit: the pivot bore and the adjuster that sets the distance to the grip. The blade, machined together with the hub from one piece of solid aluminium, carries the colour you choose. Both are anodised after CNC machining, and the lever is fixed, without a folding joint. On the V4 S it simply takes the place of the original lever on the clutch mounting, with nothing else on the bike changed.
The Weaker Hand
A weaker hand tires sooner and is less precise when it has to hold a position, and keeping the clutch at the biting point is exactly that kind of task. Two adjustments help. First, bring the blade closer to the grip, so that the fingers close on it early, where the hand is strongest, instead of at full stretch. Second, choose the length with leverage in mind: the longer the blade, the lighter the pull for the same clutch. The long ESH011 is made in four colours, the standard version in all seven. Riders who notice that the left forearm tires before the right on a long ride on the Panigale V4 S may find the difference in these two settings, together with a looser grip on the bar.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH011 for the Panigale V4 S from 2018 to 2020. For the brake, it lists two levers for the V4 S: the EDF011, also for 2018 to 2020, and the EDF099, which runs on to 2024. Clutch and brake levers are ordered separately, so you can combine a long clutch blade with a short brake blade, or the other way round.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE on file for the ESH011, which is why it is sold for track use.
