Most Sprint Filter codes cover several machines. A few cover one, and this is one of the few — the fitment list for SM282S has a single line on it, the QJ Motor SRK 650 RR of 2025 and 2026. That makes ordering unusually safe, because the commonest mistake with air filters is buying the right code for the wrong year or for the wrong variant of a shared platform, and here there is no other year and no other variant to get wrong. A short list is a different kind of information

A code shared across a dozen machines tells you that a housing was reused; a code with one entry tells you very little about anything except itself, and that is its virtue at the point of purchase. There is no platform sibling whose years you might confuse with yours, no facelift halfway through the run, no second brand carrying the same part under a different name. The one thing a single-machine code does not do is spread its own supply across several models, so it is worth keeping the part number itself — SM282S — somewhere you can find it rather than relying on a search by model name in a few years' time.

What the standard medium contributes

The P08 is the road-and-track cloth of the range, and its value on an SRK 650 RR is not the one intake parts are usually sold on. It will not make a standard bike noticeably stronger, and no element of any weave does. What it does is start the intake at a low resistance and keep it there, because a dry polyester panel is washed back to its own condition rather than steadily loading until it is thrown out. Finer media exist in this range and hold back more, at the price of passing less — that exchange is fixed, and it makes them different tools rather than better ones.

Care and cleaning

Air first. A compressed-air line held to the clean face pushes the trapped dirt back out the way it entered instead of driving it through the weave. If an oily film survives that, hand-warm water with a small amount of mild detergent removes it, and then the element is rinsed until the water is clear.
