Small Capacity, Serious Riding
The 675 shares its chassis with the 800 and simply asks more of the rider. On a circuit that is not a disadvantage: a motorcycle that has to be kept spinning teaches more about momentum than one with torque to cover mistakes.
Once the Lights Are Off
The indicator and horn controls become worse than useless. They occupy the positions the thumb searches, and every one of them is something to learn to skip. Removing them widens every gap that remains on the housing.
An Affordable Track Bike
A used Brutale 675 costs little enough that converting one for circuit use is a reasonable proposition, and it is quick enough that the result is genuinely entertaining. The population being prepared this way has grown steadily.
No Racing Harness
MV's own connector and the factory ECU. Nothing upstream has to be replaced, so the conversion is an unplug-and-plug job that a rider can complete in a paddock between sessions with hand tools.
Crash Economics
Over a season the question is not what a part costs once but how often it has to be bought. A milled housing scuffs where a moulded one cracks at the clamp, and the difference shows up in sessions completed rather than in a single invoice.
Sealed Elements
Contacts sealed inside a one-piece body. Track machines are washed hot and stored damp between meetings, and ingress rather than the number of presses is what ends switchgear in that setting.
Black Anodised
One finish. On a bike wearing race bodywork and a number board it is what most riders would choose in any case, and the colour goes through the surface rather than sitting on top of it.
