DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha Tracer 7 GT is the touring specification of Yamaha's middleweight, equipped from the factory for distance and listed by Accossato from 2019 to 2026. Owners of such a machine who book a day at a circuit face a job that riders of bare sports bikes never think about: a good deal has to come off the bike before it goes out. Accossato's FC124 is the quick-release fuel tank cap given for the Tracer 7 GT, machined from aluminium with the pawl in one of six colours.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha Tracer 7 GT, 2019 to 2026
  • Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl instead of a fitting that must be turned
  • Six pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
  • Pawl orderable on its own if it is damaged
  • Accossato describes the cap as robust and durable
  • Confirm the fit against the application list
  • No German ABE documented; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium is the whole of the material list, machined on CNC equipment from start to finish, and Accossato considers the result robust and durable; the styling is new. What the rider notices is the quick-closing pawl, which frees the Tracer 7 GT's cap in a moment and locks it down again just as fast. Six colours are offered for the pin that sits in the pawl, decided at the time of ordering. Accossato keeps the pawl available as a spare, so damage to it does not take the cap out of service.

What Comes Off Before a Session

Panniers, top box, the mounting frames if they are in the way, and anything hanging from the handlebars. Most organisers also want mirrors removed or taped, lights covered and the licence plate secured or taken off. It sounds like a lot until you have done it twice, after which it becomes a twenty-minute job with a small box of fasteners beside you. Keep that box: the screws from a pannier frame are exactly the sort of thing that vanishes into paddock gravel. Put everything that comes off the Tracer 7 GT into one place rather than spread across the van, and refit it in the same order at the end of the day, when you are tired and inclined to forget something.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the Tracer 7 700 GT from 2019 to 2026, and that is the range this product covers. Other Tracer versions are listed on separate lines. In our catalogue the FC124 is also filed under the MT-07, the MT-125 and the FZ8. Please check your machine against the application list before you order.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC124, so it is a part for closed circuits. The Tracer 7 GT keeps its factory cap for the road, which normally opens with the ignition key.
