DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Honda CB1100 is a deliberate look back: an air-cooled four with finned cylinders, round instruments and a shape taken from Honda's classic big fours, offered in Europe from 2017 as the CB1100 EX and CB1100 RS. Bikes like this feel at home at classic race meetings, where historic machines race and parade laps for road bikes are often part of the programme. According to Accossato's list, the CB1100 of 2017 to 2019 takes the FC125, a quick-release design made completely of aluminium on CNC machines, with a coloured pin on its pawl.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Honda CB1100, 2017 to 2019
  • Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing
  • Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
  • Pawl available separately if it is damaged
  • New design from Accossato
  • No German ABE on record; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato was founded in Moncalieri in 1969, the year Honda put its first four-cylinder superbike on sale. Its FC125 is aluminium throughout, CNC-machined, and in the company's words robust and durable, with a newly drawn shape. The tank of the CB1100 opens and closes quickly by way of a quick-closing pawl, and the pin on that pawl comes in six colours, gold and silver among them for a bike with plenty of brightwork. Should the pawl be damaged, Accossato sells it on its own.

Parade Laps at a Classic Meeting

Classic race meetings have a rhythm of their own. The paddock is full of machines older than their riders, the race programme is long, and in the gaps there are often parade laps for road bikes, owners' clubs and anniversaries. Parade laps are ridden at a steady pace behind a course car or a marshal, sometimes after a long wait in the assembly area with engines switched off, so fuel use is modest, but the tank still needs attention. Top up in the paddock before you join the queue, not in the assembly area, and do it with the CB1100 cooled down and standing level. Air-cooled engines stay hot for a while after running, and the cylinder fins sit close below the tank, so a spilled drop there is worse than on a water-cooled bike. Close the pawl, check the cap, and wipe the tank before the bike rolls out among the classics, where spectators look closely at every detail.

Fitment and Compatibility

The CB 1100 is on the FC125's application list from 2017 to 2019. For a CB1100 from another year, check the list again before buying, or ask us. Other Hondas carrying the same cap in our shop include the CB650F, the CBR650F and the VFR 800.

Road Approval

Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate is documented, which confines the FC125 to track use. The CB1100's factory cap opens with the ignition key, and on the road that is the one to use.
