DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Kawasaki KLR 650 is a simple, robust single-cylinder dual-sport that has served as a workhorse for farmers, commuters and travellers for many years. Accossato's AGPA76 front pad in Organic mixture fits the KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024. It is aimed at owners who use the bike for everyday transport on tarmac and good tracks and want a front brake that is gentle, quiet and easy on the disc.

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato attributes two main qualities to its Organic compound: it performs for a long time, and it limits disc wear. For a KLR 650 used as daily transport, that means fewer pad changes and a front disc that lasts longer. The company also claims its pads keep heat in check to limit fading and still stop firmly. The compound is bonded to the AGPA76 plate.

A Workhorse's Front Brake

A KLR 650 used for commuting, trips to town or light farm work does a lot of short, moderate stops. An organic pad suits that pattern: it bites smoothly from cold and does not grab, which is helpful on loose surfaces at the edge of the road. It also keeps noise down, a small but welcome benefit on early starts.

Simple bikes still need regular brake care. Check pad depth whenever the oil is changed, keep the disc clean and replace the fluid when it darkens. On bikes used on gravel or farm tracks, clean the caliper regularly, as dust can collect around the piston.

When fitting new pads, clean and push back the piston carefully, and pump the lever until firm before riding.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA76 for the front brake of the Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024. The rear takes AGPA77. The box contains one set for one caliper; check how many calipers your KLR 650 has before ordering, and compare the old and new pads.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or German test mark for AGPA76OR. The pads are sold for competition use.
