DescriptionThe whole story▼
Custom sprint events, where stripped and restyled bikes race side by side over a short straight, have become popular with builders across Europe, and a big Guzzi makes a striking base for such a project. For builders who turn an Eldorado into a sprint or track machine, Accossato catalogues the AGPA96 front pad in its EV2 racing compound, article AGPA96EV2, for model years 2015 to 2017. It is a competition pad; for the classic cruising most Eldorados enjoy, a road mixture is the better fit.
Key Features
- AGPA96EV2 front pads with EV2 racing mixture
- For the Moto Guzzi Eldorado, 2015 to 2017
- Accossato counts EV2 among its top racing compounds
- For custom sprint builds and track projects
- Designed for hard stops at the end of a run
- Plate also available as OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
- Competition only; no German approval documents
Construction and Material Quality
EV2 is, in Accossato's own words, a top racing compound. It belongs on bikes that are raced, where the front brake has to shed speed hard at the end of a run or a straight. Beyond the maker's general promise of long life, strong stopping and fade limited by moderate temperatures, Accossato publishes nothing about how the mixture is made, and we do not fill that gap. The EV2 friction layer is bonded to the AGPA96 backing plate for the Eldorado's standard front calipers.
From Classic Cruiser to Sprint Special
A sprint build usually strips the Eldorado down to its essentials: lighter bodywork, a different seat and bars, sometimes a change of wheels. At the end of a sprint the bike arrives at speed and must stop in a limited run-off area, often with a crowd close by. A racing mixture is meant for that kind of short, hard stop.
Bleed the brakes with fresh fluid before the event and bed in the new pads well in advance. Keep a road set for the ride to the event if the bike is not transported.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue places AGPA96 on the front of the Moto Guzzi Eldorado, listed as Eldorado 1400, from 2015 to 2017. At the rear it lists AGPA92 for the same period. There is no Accossato disc for the Eldorado. Two boxes are needed for the twin front calipers.
Road Approval
AGPA96EV2 has no ABE or German approval mark in our records and is offered for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two EV2 racing pads for a single front caliper.
