DescriptionThe whole story▼

Short circuits are unkind to brakes. No straight lasts long enough to let anything cool, the corners arrive one after another, and a single lap can hold more lever work than an hour on the road. A rider who takes a Multistrada V2 S to a venue like that is asking a great deal of the front of the motorcycle. Accossato answers with the EV2 racing material, which it places at the competition end of the programme, pressed onto the AGPA177 front pad as AGPA177EV2 and listed for the V2 S from 2022 to 2024.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada V2 S, 2022 to 2024
  • AGPA177EV2: the AGPA177 carrier in Accossato's EV2 racing material
  • The maker's competition choice, described simply as a racing compound
  • For closed courses and organised events, not for the ride home
  • A caliper on each side of the front wheel, so count two boxes
  • Two pads to a box, the set for one of those calipers
  • ST, EV1 and ZXC press the same carrier for other uses
  • No German ABE on record; a competition part

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's whole statement about this material is that it was made for racing, and the silence around it is a form of honesty, since nothing is claimed for a setting the material was not designed for. What the company does say about its pad programme as a whole, namely slow wear, heat held inside limits so the lever keeps its position, and a firm result at the disc, is put to the test all at once when a Multistrada V2 S goes out on a tight circuit. The AGPA177 carrier beneath is the standard one, so the suffix decides the surface and nothing structural.

A Tight Circuit and Constant Lever Work

On a compact track the lever is never far from a rider's fingers. Brake, turn, a short burst of throttle, brake again, and the sequence repeats so quickly that the discs sit at a working temperature from the out-lap to the flag. A tall machine adds its own flavour, because the load moving forward is considerable and the front tyre has to be given a moment to accept it. The V2 S can be ridden quickly in that company, but the front pads are the part keeping the score.

People who do this often build small, unglamorous routines. They walk round the bike between outings and look instead of assuming. They watch the fluid as closely as the friction material. They bed a fresh set in during a deliberately slow outing rather than during a fast one. And at the end of the day they resist loading up immediately, because heat needs somewhere to go before a Multistrada V2 S is tied down on a trailer.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's table puts the AGPA177 at the front of the Multistrada V2 S for 2022, 2023 and 2024. Each of the two front calipers takes a set, so the quantity for a complete change is two. The rear of the same motorcycle is covered by the AGPA93 across those seasons, and the disc part of the catalogue lists the DK053 and the DKS053. The standard V2 holds an entry of its own, and no later model year is included here.

Road Approval

Accossato supplies no ABE and no German test documentation for this article, and none is held on our side either. It is sold as a competition part for closed courses.

Scope of Delivery

One box containing two AGPA177 pads in the EV2 racing material, which serves a single caliper. A front change on the Multistrada V2 S therefore needs a second box.
