DescriptionThe whole story▼
An Urban G/S is not the machine anyone expects to see on a grid, which has never stopped owners from booking track time with one and enjoying themselves enormously. Twenty minutes of that, session after session, leaves a front brake hotter than any road ride will. For riders who work their R nineT Urban G/S that way, Accossato catalogues the AGPA96 plate in the EV2 racing compound for the years 2017 to 2023, a material the company presents without embroidery as its racing choice.
Key Features
- Front pads for the BMW R nineT Urban G/S, 2017 to 2023
- Article AGPA96EV2, the AGPA96 plate carrying the EV2 racing compound
- Made for track sessions and competition rather than commuting
- Described by Accossato as a racing material, plainly and without qualification
- Two pads in the box, which equals one caliper
- A pair of calipers holds this front wheel, so a full change needs two boxes
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC versions of the same plate exist under separate numbers
- No German ABE recorded, no approval mark; competition and circuit use only
Construction and Material Quality
Every article in this group shares one plate and differs only in the layer that touches the disc, and the racing layer is a specialist. Accossato says as much in a single phrase and leaves the rest to the stopwatch. Materials built for competition are drawn around heavy, repeated work, which also explains what they are not: this is not the mix anybody would choose for the school run, and Accossato keeps four other materials on the same plate for riders who want something else. Heat resistance is the quality being bought here. Two pads are boxed together, the quantity a single caliper on the Urban G/S takes.
Session After Session
A track day is not one long effort but five or six short ones with lunch in the middle, and pads notice the difference. The first session goes out on cold material, the third goes out on a set that never fully cooled, and by the afternoon the rider is leaning on a brake that has been through a proper working day. Consistency across that arc is what a racing compound is for, and it is also why a cold first lap deserves a gentler hand than the eighth. Use the in-lap to let things cool instead of stopping at the pit entry with the brake still glowing, keep an eye on how quickly the material is disappearing, and take five minutes between sessions to look at the discs on the R nineT for scoring or a lip at the outer edge.
Fitment and Compatibility
The application data covers the Urban G/S version of the R nineT from 2017 to 2023 with this front plate. Riders of the standard roadster, built since 2014, need the AGPA177 at the front; at the back the AGPA29 fits both variants from 2014 to 2023. Accossato's disc range for this front wheel runs to the DK006 and the DK007. Because each box fills one caliper, a complete front set is two boxes, and fitting them at the same time keeps the wheel balanced in its behaviour from the first stop of the first session.
Road Approval
This pad reaches us without a German ABE and without any test documentation, so nothing covers it for riding on public roads. We list the AGPA96EV2 for the circuit and for competition.
Scope of Delivery
A box of two Accossato AGPA96 pads in the EV2 racing compound, the set for one caliper at the front.
