Key Features

- Dimension B 10 mm
- Dimension C 450 mm
- Öhlins part number 00637-12
- Original Öhlins service part
Where It Sits
Öhlins gives it as 10 mm, 10 mm, 450 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Hose length is specific to the installation and cannot be substituted freely. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.
Why the Original
Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.
Identifying the Right Part
00637-12 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins states dimension a 10 mm, dimension b 10 mm, dimension c 450 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Fittings are specific to the hose and the housing they connect. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
