DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 008 bridges the RSV4 Factory's clutch lever switch so it starts without one in the circuit.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 Factory (2021–2026)
- Bridges the clutch lever switch electrically
- The engine starts without the lever pulled
- Plugs into Aprilia's own connector
- For a lever assembly that no longer carries a switch
- Standard switch refits at any time
Already Half a Race Bike
Semi-active suspension, forged wheels and a chassis that adjusts everywhere. Preparing a Factory is mostly a matter of removing road equipment and fitting race controls.
Race Controls Have No Switch
Folding levers and radial master cylinders rarely carry a factory switch position, which leaves the clutch interlock circuit permanently open.
What Stops Working
The starter, with a gear engaged. In neutral the bike fires normally, which is why the cause is often chased in the wrong place.
Closed Permanently
The unit holds the circuit closed so the controller always reads the lever as pulled. Nothing else about starting changes.
What Is Given Up
Protection against the motorcycle moving forward when the starter is pressed. On a bike with this much torque, that is a real thing to accept deliberately.
Two Hundred and Seventeen Horsepower
From 1099 cc in current form. Aprilia found it in intake, camshaft and electronics work rather than in more capacity.
One Connector
Aprilia's own plug at the handlebar with no adapters and nothing spliced.
Nothing Cut
An untouched loom is worth real money on a motorcycle this expensive.
Competition Only
A road-registered Factory should keep its interlock working.
Reversible
Unplug the bridge, refit the standard lever assembly and the protection returns.
Built in Noale
Aprilia still assembles the V4s in Italy, in a factory small enough that the racing department and the production line are within sight of one another. It shows in details no cost accountant would have approved, and it is most of why these motorcycles have the following they do.
An Electronic Ride Height Adjuster
Aprilia offers a system that drops the bike at a standstill and raises it under way, taken straight from the racing department. Almost nothing else homologated for the road has one, and it is the clearest sign of how close the Factory sits to a competition machine.
