DescriptionThe whole story▼
JP PDQ YA033 E is the bronze-anodised switch JetPrime machines for the Yamaha R1, fitting owners who run a quick-action throttle on their litre-class sportsbike. A full race crouch leaves little room on the clip-ons, and this block gives the displaced right-hand controls a purpose-built spot.
Key Features
- Yamaha R1 (2020–2025)
- Yamaha R1 (2020–2025)
- For quick-action throttle installations
- Bronze anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification switch elements
- Pre-wired for the original connector
A Litre Superbike Leaves No Spare Space
Clip-ons set low enough for a full tuck give almost no room for an extra switch once the throttle's travel is shortened. This block sits off the bar itself, clear of where the rider's hand grips hardest under braking and acceleration.
Where the Original Controls Went
A quick-action throttle frees up space directly under the grip but takes the standard right-hand functions with it. This unit occupies that same role on the R1's handlebar, machined to match the bike rather than adapted from another model. The result restores the original function layout in a position suited to the R1's own geometry, not adapted from another model.
Bronze Anodised, Not Painted
The colour is worked into the Ergal's surface during anodising, which means it cannot chip or flake the way a painted finish eventually does. Against the R1's mostly dark cockpit it reads as deliberate rather than mismatched. A coating would eventually show wear exactly where the thumb presses hardest; the anodised finish does not.
Sealed for More Than a Road Session
Military-specification elements inside the switch tolerate heat, moisture and vibration well beyond what a road-registered R1 produces on its own. That margin is what separates a part that lasts from one that does not. Owners who track the bike every weekend put that margin to use far more than someone riding occasionally.
Reversible, and Specific to This Bike
The loom connects to Yamaha's original plug without any cutting, so the standard setup can be restored later. The block is machined only for the R1 and only works alongside an already-fitted JetPrime quick-action throttle. The original switch simply bolts back where it was, and the bike shows no sign the conversion ever happened.
