DescriptionThe whole story▼

For teams running a Triumph Speed Triple 1050 in competition, finding the right front brake material is an ongoing process. Accossato offers the AGPA112 front pad for the 2008 to 2015 Speed Triple 1050 in its ZXC ceramic racing compound. It is intended for racing and gives teams another option to evaluate over a weekend, comparing lever feel, consistency and wear with other compounds before settling on the one that suits their rider and circuit.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA112ZXC
  • For the front of the Triumph Speed Triple 1050, 2008 to 2015
  • Designed for racing use
  • Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • Two pads per box; two boxes for both front calipers
  • Also offered in OR, ST, EV1 and EV2

Construction and Material Quality

ZXC is Accossato's ceramic racing compound. The company describes it as ideal for racing and publishes no further technical data, so we will not add any. It follows Accossato's general design aims: long life, reduced fade through limited heat, and high braking performance. How a ceramic compound feels at the lever is a matter of rider preference, so it should be evaluated during practice before it is used in a race.

Evaluating a New Compound

Change one thing at a time. Fit the ZXC pads to both front calipers for a practice session, bed them in progressively, and ask the rider for detailed feedback on initial bite, lever feel and consistency over the session. Inspect pads and discs afterwards. Compare the notes with the previous compound and decide together whether to keep the ZXC pads for qualifying and the race. Mixing compounds between the left and right calipers of the Speed Triple 1050 is never a good idea, as it would make the front brake pull unevenly; both sides should always carry the same material. Keep the removed set labelled and clean in case the team decides to return to it, and remember that a ceramic compound may need a slightly different bedding procedure before it gives a settled feel.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPA112 for the front of the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 from 2008 to 2015. With two front calipers and one set per box, the front needs two boxes. The AGPA76 is catalogued at the rear from 2005 to 2017, as is the DK132 disc. The same front pad is available as Organic, Sintered, EV1 and EV2.

Road Approval

This ceramic pad has no German ABE and we have no road test documentation. It is supplied for racing and track use only.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPA112 front pads in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, one set for one front caliper.
