The stops come often but rarely hard, so the discs seldom get truly hot, and moisture, road grime and pad dust stay on the surface. After a night parked outside, a light film of rust often forms on the rings of a Diavel; the first few stops wipe it away and it does no harm. Deposits of pad material deserve more attention. They build up unevenly when hot pads rest on one spot of the disc at a long red light, and they can make the lever pulse slightly.
