DescriptionThe whole story▼
From the saddle of a Multistrada 1260, two small reservoirs are in view on every ride: the one for the clutch on the left of the handlebar and the one for the front brake on the right. They frame the dashboard like a pair, and a pair looks right when it matches. The 1260 replaced the Multistrada 1200 in 2018 with a larger DVT engine, and Accossato lists the FP007 for it from 2018 to 2020, a clutch reservoir cover CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised.
Key Features
- Clutch master cylinder cover for the Ducati Multistrada 1260, 2018 to 2020
- The 1260 Touring of the same years is included
- Made for the original clutch master cylinder
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Six colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Can match the TS003 front brake reservoir cap for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Six anodised colours are offered for the FP007: blue, black, orange, red, silver and gold. The cover itself is aluminium, shaped on CNC machines before anodising, and it is designed for the original clutch master cylinders of the bikes Accossato lists. The Multistrada 1260 therefore keeps its standard hydraulic clutch, and only the reservoir lid changes. Before it goes on, examine the diaphragm under the old cover; one that is cracked or has lost its shape should be renewed.
A Matching Pair on the Handlebar
Accossato also makes the TS003 for the front brake reservoir of the Multistrada 1260, and the two caps can be ordered in the same finish. The FP007 comes in six colours and the TS003 in seven, with all six of the clutch cover's colours among them, so every choice except green works for both. Black keeps the cockpit calm, silver comes closest to the look of bare metal, red is the obvious Ducati colour, and gold, orange or blue turn the handlebar into a feature. If you fit both on the same afternoon, deal with one side at a time. Turn the bars so that the reservoir you are working on sits level, protect the tank and the fairing with a thick cloth, and keep water close by, since brake and clutch fluid damage paint and any drop must be rinsed away at once. Open each reservoir only as long as the job needs, check that the fluid lies between the marks, and tighten each cap gently. Afterwards, test both levers with the engine off: the clutch should engage at its usual point and the brake lever should feel firm. Renewing the fluids follows the owner's manual and is a separate job.
Fitment and Compatibility
Listed by Accossato for the Multistrada 1260 and the 1260 Touring from 2018 to 2020, the FP007 fits the original clutch master cylinder. At Inter-Pace the same cover is catalogued for the Multistrada 1200, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro and the Monster 1200. The TS003 front reservoir cap completes the pair; note that Accossato's list gives it for the 1260 from 2019 onwards. Check your bike's year against the list before ordering.
Road Approval
The FP007 has no ABE or test mark on record with us, so it is intended for racing and competition.
