MV Agusta stopped building the Brutale 675 in 2015, and Sprint Filter builds this element to last as long as the motorcycle it goes into. Those two facts meet awkwardly here. A racing medium is a trade — filtration handed over, induction capacity taken back — and here the trade is not signed for one service interval. It is signed for however many years this particular Brutale has left.
Key Features
- Sprint Filter's racing weave: single-layer polyester, woven, used dry and never oiled
- An aperture of 85 µm passing a rated 15,000 l/m²/sec, the highest flow figure in the range
- Retention measured at 95.22 per cent of 100-micron particles
- Roughly double the cloth of other performance elements, folded inside the standard outline
- Seats where the factory panel sat — nothing trimmed, nothing repositioned, no remap
- Regenerated with air instead of thrown away, and guaranteed two years from purchase
A choice with no next service to correct it
Paper forgives, because paper is temporary: pick the wrong grade and the mistake leaves with the old panel. A lifetime element withdraws that safety net. The five micrometres of extra aperture between this cloth and the standard one stay open for every remaining ride: the commute, the Sunday road, the spring after each winter in the garage. What arrives in return is capacity, and capacity is drawn on only with the throttle against its stop high in the rev range. Nothing on the road will announce the change: an insert filter does not make a standard motorcycle noticeably quicker.
Where the ordinary cloth closes the case
The same fitment is sold as the plain P08, at 80 µm and 5,050 l/m²/sec, for a fraction of the outlay — the racing version runs to around two and a half times its price. Almost everything an owner of a 675 came for already sits in the cheaper part: a dry medium with no oil film to travel onto the intake sensors, a large area that fills slowly, a service that costs an air line rather than an invoice. The racing weave starts to argue for itself when the machine is worked in repeated hard sessions and the airbox comes apart between them. A road-kept Brutale 675 is not that machine, and pointing that out is worth more than selling the dearer number.
Care and cleaning
CM135S F1-85 is regenerated rather than renewed. Lay an air line against its clean face and drive the dust back out along the path it arrived by; on a weave this open that is usually the whole job. Should a gritty spell leave more than air will lift, lukewarm water and a mild washing-up detergent finish it, rinsed until the water leaves clear. Then patience: moving air, for as long as it takes. No heat gun, no radiator, no flame — heat is the one thing this polyester will not survive. It goes back dry, with nothing applied to it. The maintenance sheet is filed under Downloads.
Fitment & Compatibility
Listed for the MV Agusta Brutale 675 built from 2011 to 2015, seated in the unmodified series airbox. Eleven machines take this element in all, across MV's 675 and 800 triples; the Fitment tab names every one of them.
