DescriptionThe whole story▼
Seal head 16/36/21, Öhlins part number 00114-02. O-ring sizes are given as inner diameter and cross-section, and both have to match — a close size is not a match.

What It Is
The published figures are 16 mm, 36 mm, 21 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. A weeping damper almost always starts here. Static seals and dynamic seals are not interchangeable even in the same size. An oil seal that has hardened lets the shaft pass oil past it, and the damping fades long before the leak becomes visible.
Why the Original
Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Order under 00114-02. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. inner diameter 16 mm, outer diameter 36 mm, thickness 21 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks. Replacing the head as a unit is usually faster and more reliable than fitting the seals individually.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
