DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Turismo Veloce is MV Agusta's sport tourer. The JP ACS 060 replaces its throttle housing with a milled Ergal unit carrying a shorter cam.
Key Features
- MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 (2015–2022)
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Short-stroke throttle cam
- Black anodised
- No lettering on the housing
- Uses the original throttle cables
An MV You Can Cross a Country On
Semi-active suspension on the Lusso versions, integrated panniers, a decent screen and a 110 hp triple. The Turismo Veloce is the least fashionable motorcycle MV makes and, by a considerable margin, the most practical.
Lusso, RC, SCS and Rosso
MV produced the Turismo Veloce in a stream of specifications distinguished by suspension, clutch and paint. The SCS uses a Rekluse automatic clutch, which is unusual on a sport tourer and works better than it sounds.
Hours on the Throttle
A touring machine's throttle is held open for long periods rather than worked in bursts, and the wrist angle over that time matters. A shorter cam means less rotation to reach cruising position, which reduces the strain across a full day.
Mechanical and Reversible
Cable throttle, original cables retained. Nothing electrical is touched, which on a bike carrying semi-active suspension and a full electronics package is worth stating clearly.
Machined Where It Wears
A touring motorcycle accumulates operating hours faster than a sports bike does. The bore in which the throttle tube runs is cut rather than cast in this housing, and that precision holds up over the mileage these machines actually cover.
Plain Flank
No lettering. On a bike whose cockpit already carries a large display, panniers' mounting hardware and often a navigation cradle, an unmarked component is the one that stays out of the way.
Semi-Active Damping
The Lusso versions adjust their suspension continuously according to what the sensors report. On a bike expected to carry luggage and a passenger as well as being ridden hard alone, that range of loads is more than a static setup can cover.
