DescriptionThe whole story▼
Giacomo Agostini won most of his world championship titles on MV Agusta machines, and the Superveloce Ago honours him with a limited edition of MV's retro-styled supersport bike, finished in colours that recall his racing years. It is a collector's piece, but it is also a sporting triple that deserves to be ridden, and some owners take it to a closed circuit where it can run as its namesake's bikes once did. For the Superveloce Ago of 2021 and 2022, Accossato lists the FC101, a quick-release tank cap machined from aluminium, with the pin on its pawl in the colour you choose.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Ago, 2021 and 2022
- CNC-machined aluminium body
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately if it is ever damaged
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC101 is made entirely of aluminium, machined on CNC equipment, and Accossato calls it robust and durable, with a new design. The company itself goes back to 1969, when it was founded in Moncalieri, right in the middle of the years in which Agostini collected his titles. The quick-closing pawl opens the Superveloce Ago's tank quickly and closes it with one movement. The colour of the pin on the pawl is yours to choose, and a replacement pawl can be bought separately.
Riding a Tribute Rather Than Parking It
Limited editions named after champions often end up behind glass, and there is nothing wrong with that. But a Superveloce Ago that sees a circuit once or twice a year honours its name in a different way. The practical question is how to do it without harming what makes the bike special. Keep every change reversible: store the original cap in a labelled bag with the bike's documents, fit the FC101 only for the track day and swap back afterwards with the engine cold. Ride in a group whose pace suits the day rather than your ambitions, because a slide on a limited edition costs far more than lap time. Refuel with particular care, pouring slowly with a cloth at the filler and wiping the tank at once, since fuel on a special livery is no small matter. If you would like the pin to join the story, red or silver sits well with MV's traditional racing colours. Then enjoy the laps. Agostini's machines were built to be raced, and this one was built to be ridden.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the Superveloce 800 Ago of 2021 and 2022 with the FC101, and this product covers those two years. With us the same cap is also listed for the F3 675 and the Brutale 800, and for the Aprilia RS 457. Check your bike against the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
The FC101 has no German ABE and no documented parts certificate, so it is intended for closed circuits. The Superveloce Ago's original cap, normally opened with the ignition key, is the one for the road.
