Two Sprint Filter elements fit this airbox, and their part numbers differ by a suffix. CM251S is the road-and-track version; CM251S F1-85, the one on this page, is the racing weave. They mount identically and sit in the same frame, so if the wrong one turns up, nothing on the motorcycle will point it out. The lid closes, the engine starts, no warning appears and no entry is made anywhere. Across six model years of Brivido R, that is the argument for deciding once, deliberately, before ordering.
Key Features
- Racing medium of the P08 family: woven polyester, used dry, never treated with oil
- Aperture 85 µm, rated flow 15,000 l/m²/sec — Sprint Filter's highest flow specification
- Measured retention 95.22 per cent at 100 microns, where the standard P08 reaches 93.13
- Close to twice the working surface of a typical performance element, inside the untouched box
- Direct exchange for the factory panel: no adapter, no cutting, no change to the fuelling
- Washed and refitted for as long as the bike is kept, under two years of warranty
Why the machine cannot correct you
Nothing downstream of the airbox measures mesh size. The injection system meters the air it actually receives and trims the mixture to what the sensors report, so a wider weave and a finer one are both fuelled correctly and neither sets a fault. The difference between the two media lives in a distribution of particle sizes that no instrument on this motorcycle looks at, and it shows up as engine wear over years rather than as anything audible on the way home. A wrong choice here does not fail. It simply runs, quietly, for as long as you keep the bike.
Which of the two belongs in a road Brivido R
The standard CM251S, in almost every case: 80 µm, 5,050 l/m²/sec, the same dry cloth, the same washability, for a good deal less money. The racing version has a case where the bike is taken to circuits and its intake is serviced by engine hours instead of by the odometer. Where dust is the worry, the useful move goes the other way, to the CM251P14 catalogued for this airbox at 14 µm and 1,800 l/m²/sec. In none of those directions does a drop-in element make a standard Brivido R noticeably stronger; what changes is which trade you are holding.
Care and cleaning
Lift the CM251S F1-85 out and blow it through from the clean side outwards with a compressor; on a road bike that is most services finished. Where salt or a wet autumn has left a film, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until nothing more comes out. Drying is the step that gets hurried: open air only, no heat of any kind, no flame, and never back into the box damp. Sprint Filter's maintenance sheet sits under Downloads.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Voge Brivido R built from 2021 to 2026, seating in the standard airbox without modification. Nine Voge listings share this racing element, from the 2020 machines to the 625 cm³ models of 2026. Check your year under Fitment.
