Spark measured this system at 109,5 dB against a standard 93. It is not a road exhaust and Spark says so in capitals. What it is, is a Moto2-style kit whose collector was dimensioned to add torque without anyone touching the ECU.

Not Recommended for Road Use

Spark's own installation note reads: not recommended for road use, for racing use only. There is no certificate, and at 109,5 dB there was never going to be one. Fit it to a machine that lives on circuits or in a garage, not to one that gets ridden to work.

That warning is the first thing to settle, because everything else about the kit is genuinely good and it is easy to talk yourself past a line like that.

The Coiled Titanium Pipe

Between the collector and the silencer sits the piece that defines this system: a titanium 3-into-1 section, TIG-welded by hand, that loops back on itself in a tight coil before it turns rearward. The heat colours across the welds are not applied — they are what titanium does when it is welded properly and then left alone.

Spark calls the look Moto2-style, and the reference is literal rather than aspirational: the same construction goes onto grand prix machinery. On a road-registered naked it is the sort of component people photograph rather than hide.

Torque Without a Remap

Spark is specific about the engineering claim. The collector diameters and lengths were designed to improve torque output, and the system is intended to work without an additional ECU or a remap. That is a narrower and more testable statement than a peak-power number, and it matters on a triple that is ridden on its midrange.

It also means the kit does not oblige you to book dyno time before the motorcycle runs properly, which is not true of every racing system on the market.

Half the Weight

8,4 kg standard, 4,2 kg fitted. Exactly half, and on a motorcycle whose appeal has always been how little there is of it. The saving comes from the titanium pipe and silencer, both a long way from the centre of mass.

If weight is the whole point, Spark's Special Edition GYA8874T takes the system to 2,4 kg by building the collector in titanium as well. It costs 476 euro more and is made to order.

The Sound Was Designed

Spark labels the sound section of this page a sound experience and states that the note was studied deliberately, not left as a by-product. On a naturally aspirated three-cylinder that is a real piece of work: the firing order gives the engine an unusual voice, and an exhaust can either sharpen it or flatten it into noise.
