Four point nine kilos against eight point one, and no catalytic converter. Spark's racing version of the Trident system keeps the pre-silencer box and the 60's silencer and removes the one component that made the homologated version legal.
Key Features
- Racing full system for the Triumph Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 and Daytona 660, 2021 to 2026.
- 4.9 kg against 8.1 kg standard — 3.2 kg saved.
- 60's silencer from Spark's modern-classic range.
- AISI 304 stainless collector and pre-silencer box.
- No catalytic converter.
- Around a hundred and fifty euros below the homologated version.
What Comes Out
Spark builds this system in two forms that differ by one component. The homologated GTR8819IOM carries a racing catalytic converter inside the pre-silencer box; this one does not.
Everything else is shared: the same AISI 304 collector, the same box, the same silencer, the same weight saving. What you save is around a hundred and fifty euros, and what you give up is the certificate. On a motorcycle used only on closed roads that is a straightforward trade; on a registered one it is not a trade at all.
The Box Still Does Its Job
Removing the catalyst does not turn this into a straight-through system. The pre-silencer box stays, and it is the component that gives Spark's Trident exhausts the dark, enveloping note the company describes rather than a raw one.
That matters for a track bike more than it might seem. A system with a genuine expansion chamber ahead of the silencer measures lower at a sound check than one without, which is the difference between riding and being sent home.
A Classic Case on a Race Part
The 60's is the period-shaped silencer from Spark's modern-classic range — the one case in the Trident programme not derived from racing. Pairing it with a system that has no catalyst is an unusual combination and a deliberate one.
It suits an owner who wants the motorcycle to look standard and behave otherwise. Spark's price list files this silencer under Evo V while the product page calls it the 60's; both names describe the same modern-classic case.
Three Motorcycles, One Part Number
Spark lists this system for the Trident 660, the Tiger Sport 660 and the Daytona 660 of the same generation. All three use the same 660 three-cylinder and the same exhaust interface, so one system covers a naked, a sport tourer and a sports bike.
That is worth knowing if you own more than one of them, or if you are buying a used system — a kit that came off a Tiger Sport fits a Trident, provided the model years match.
Fitment & Compatibility
Triumph Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 and Daytona 660, 2021 through 2026. The homologated version is GTR8819IOM. With the black ceramic treatment the racing system is GTR8819B. The Grid-O racing version, with a 3-into-1 racing pipe, is GTR8820T.
Road Approval
None. The system has no catalytic converter and no certificate. Closed circuits only.
