DescriptionThe whole story▼

On a Stradale 800 that has been prepared for circuit use, the rear brake is a fine-tuning tool rather than a stopping workhorse. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA42ZXC, is catalogued for the MV Agusta Stradale 800 from 2015 to 2016. It is intended for racers and track riders who want the rear of their bike to match a competition-focused front setup.

Key Features

  • AGPA42ZXC rear pads for the MV Agusta Stradale 800
  • Listed for 2015 and 2016
  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, ideal for racing according to Accossato
  • For small, precise rear inputs on a circuit
  • Matches a track-oriented front setup
  • Also available on this plate as OR and ST
  • Supplied for competition; no German approval documents

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and that is the full extent of its published description. The intended use is circuit riding, where the rear brake is used lightly but repeatedly to steady the bike. Accossato's general claims for its pads, including a long life, strong stopping power and heat kept under control to hold off fade, apply to this mixture as well. The ceramic friction material is carried on the AGPA42 plate.

Fine Control at the Back

On a circuit the rear brake is rarely used to slow the bike significantly. Instead it helps settle the chassis when braking hard into a slow corner and can tighten the line slightly on the way in. Riders who use it this way value a pad that bites the same every session, so their inputs stay consistent as the pace rises.

Rear pads on a track bike can wear surprisingly quickly if the rider rests a foot on the pedal. Look at them after each day, clean the caliper piston before retracting it and make sure the pedal returns freely.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato catalogues AGPA42 for the rear axle of the MV Agusta Stradale 800 in model years 2015 and 2016. AGPA177 is the front pad for the same period, and no Accossato disc is listed for the Stradale. One box is enough for the single rear caliper.

Road Approval

AGPA42ZXC is supplied for racing and competition, as we hold no ABE or German approval mark for it.

Scope of Delivery

Two ZXC ceramic pads, packed together for the rear caliper.
