DescriptionThe whole story▼
Naked bikes turn up on race grids more often than people think. Naked-bike cups, club series and endurance events all have room for a Suzuki GSX-S1000 with a race number on it. AGPA106 in the EV2 racing mixture is Accossato's front pad for the GSX-S1000 from 2015 to 2026, made for that competition use: timed sessions, hard stops at the end of a straight and the need for a lever that behaves the same from warm-up lap to chequered flag.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Suzuki GSX-S1000, 2015 to 2026
- EV2 racing compound, article AGPA106EV2
- Accossato's top racing compound
- For naked-bike cups and club racing
- Designed around hard, repeated stops
- Rear pad AGPP88; discs DK234 and DK251 in the catalogue
- Sold per caliper
- Racing only; no German approval documents
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound, and there is little more to add: it is intended for competition. The general qualities Accossato claims for its pads, namely durability, limited heating with little fade and powerful stopping, apply here too, but the purpose is racing rather than the road.
A Naked Bike on the Grid
Racing a GSX-S1000 means dealing with the lack of a fairing: the rider sits upright, catches more wind and has to stop the bike from high speed with the body acting as an air brake. The front brakes do a great deal of work at every corner. Preparing for a race weekend therefore starts with the brakes: fresh fluid, clean and straight discs, pistons cleaned before they are pushed back, and new pads bedded in during the first free practice. Between sessions, a quick inspection of pad thickness through the calipers tells you if the set will last the race distance.
Fitment and Compatibility
For AGPA106 Accossato gives the GSX-S 1000 from 2015 to 2026. The GSX-S1000 carries two front calipers and a box contains pads for one, so a full front needs two boxes. The rear pad for this model is AGPP88, and Accossato's list includes discs DK234 and DK251. Alternatives in the same shape are Sintered, EV1 street/track and ZXC ceramic racing.
Road Approval
AGPA106EV2 is sold without an ABE or German approval document, which is why we list it for circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
Two EV2 racing pads in the box, enough for one front caliper of the GSX-S1000.
