DescriptionThe whole story▼
Wet rock is the surface many enduro riders fear most. A slab of limestone or granite that grips well when dry becomes treacherous after rain, and the rear tyre of a 250 two-stroke will spin at the smallest excess of drive. On a TM Racing EN 250 two-stroke, getting across means using the clutch as traction control. Accossato's C7283 is the folding clutch lever for the EN 250 two-stroke from 2010 to 2019, CNC-machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a long blade that four fingers can share.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the TM Racing EN 250 two-stroke, 2010 to 2019
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mount
- Long blade for a four-finger grip
- Anti-break hinge: the blade can tip forward on impact
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Choice of black, blue, orange or red blade on a dark base
- No German ABE documented; off-road use only
Construction and Material Quality
The C7283 begins as a solid block of Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and takes its shape on CNC machines in Italy. Accossato explains the choice with three goals: strength, reliability and low weight. The finished lever has a dark base and a coloured blade, black, blue, orange or red, linked by a hinge. At the clutch, the blade is longer than on Accossato's brake levers and meant for four fingers, which suits a rider who needs fine control of the friction point.
Across Wet Rock
Crossing a wet slab is a matter of keeping drive gentle and constant. The rider stays light on the pegs, picks a gear higher than usual and lets the clutch out only as far as the rear tyre can take, adding throttle as the bike rolls. If the tyre begins to spin, a slight pull on the lever takes the edge off the drive before the rear slides sideways. It is fine work, sustained across the whole width of the slab, and many riders like to do it with the whole hand on the lever.
When grip fails anyway, the fall is instant. The EN 250 two-stroke drops onto the rock, often on its left side if the rear has stepped out that way, and the clutch lever strikes hard stone. A solid blade can break clean off, and on a wet slab in the middle of a trail that leaves you with a real problem. On the C7283, the hinge lets the blade give way forwards instead of taking the whole impact at its tip. It may still be damaged in a heavy fall, but there is a real chance it will still work when you lift the TM and try again, a little more gently this time.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the TM Racing EN 250 two-stroke of 2010 to 2019 for the C7283, which is mounted at the original clutch control. The B8206 folding brake lever fits the same bike over a longer span, starting in 2001. The colours differ slightly: black, blue and red are common to both levers, while the clutch lever also comes in orange and the brake lever in gold.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the C7283. If the EN 250 two-stroke is registered, note that the lever is not approved for public roads; it is meant for off-road terrain and competition.
Scope of Delivery
One C7283 clutch lever, the blade in black, blue, orange or red.
