An Even Taper

What separates the Sinfonia from the rest of Spark's vintage cases is that nothing interrupts it. No bell at the mouth, no rolled lip, no change of angle — one cone from the inlet to the cut. It is the plainest of the four and the hardest to make look wrong on an unfamiliar motorcycle.

Builders reach for it when the rest of the bike already has enough going on.

The Name

Spark's silencer families are named for what they sound like as often as for what they look like, and this one is the case built for tone rather than for volume. The internal packing and the length of the taper are chosen to give a full note without the hard edge a short case produces.

With the insert removed it is not a quiet silencer. With the insert in, it is one of the more civilised things you can put on a custom build.

How It Mounts

Through a bracket at the case and a link pipe to your header. Neither is included, and neither is standard, because the article is not built for a named motorcycle. Spark's universal holders and its bent and straight tubes are sold separately and are made for exactly this job.

Where It Sits Among the Four

Spark builds four vintage cases and they are easy to confuse. The Classic has a rolled mouth, the Trumpet opens into a bell, the Megaphone is short and steep, and the Sinfonia is the long even cone. If you are choosing between them by photograph, that is the order to look for.

Finish Options

Scotch-brite as delivered, with a black ceramic treatment available on request. Unlike the Classic and the Trumpet, Spark does not list a factory Black Series version of the Sinfonia — if you want this case dark, the ceramic option is the route.
