DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP CJP 084H is the fuel controller for a Superveloce 800 whose engine has been modified far enough that the standard closed-loop correction has run out of authority.
Key Features
- MV Agusta Superveloce 800 (2020–2023)
- Fully programmable fuel map, written on a PC
- Complete two-axis management: engine speed and load
- For engines with an aftermarket exhaust or air filter
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
Sixties Bodywork, Modern Triple
MV wrapped the F3 in a round headlight and a humped tail. The engine underneath is unchanged and still needs revs to make sense.
The Honest Summary
A programmable fuel controller for an owner who has modified the engine and wants the mixture to match. It rewards effort and it does nothing at all without it.
Fuel Grade
A map developed on one octane rating is not automatically right on another. Owners who run race fuel at weekends and pump petrol during the week should hold two maps.
Mapping at a Circuit
A laptop, a wideband and a session between runs. This is where a programmable unit earns its price over a preset module, because conditions change and the map can follow.
Zero Means Standard
Every cell starts at nought and the motorcycle behaves exactly as the factory intended. There is no default map to undo and nothing to be surprised by on the first ride.
Lean Is the Only Real Danger
Everything else about mapping is reversible and forgiving. A map leaned out where the engine is loaded is the one mistake with a repair bill attached.
If Something Feels Wrong
Write the empty map back and ride the same road. Ten minutes settles whether the unit is responsible, which is a diagnostic luxury a reflash does not give.
On a Twin
Widely spaced firing events make mixture errors easy to feel. Owners of large twins usually notice the improvement from careful mapping before anybody else does.
Why the Factory Cannot Do This
A manufacturer maps one motorcycle for every market, every fuel and every exhaust it will ever wear, then adds margin for the emissions cycle. No fixed map can also be correct for one bike with a race can on it.
