DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ABSY 004 takes the R3's ABS out of the circuit and keeps the warning lamp dark.
Key Features
- Yamaha R3 (2015–2026)
- Removes the ABS module from the braking circuit
- Suppresses the resulting dashboard warning
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- No cutting and no splicing
- Fully reversible to standard
Competition Only
A road bike without ABS gives up a protection that works in exactly the situations a rider did not see coming. This part belongs on a circuit machine.
The R3 Cup
Yamaha has run one-make series on this motorcycle in several countries, which puts a great many near-standard R3s onto circuits every season. Preparation is routine on them.
What the Rules Say
Several national series require ABS to be disabled rather than merely switched off. An eliminator is the accepted way to satisfy that without leaving a warning on the dash.
Weight Off the Front
The modulator sits high and forward. Removing it and its plumbing takes a couple of kilograms out of the worst possible place on a 169 kilogram motorcycle.
Forty-Two Horsepower
From 321 cc, with the redline past twelve thousand. The R3 teaches corner speed because there is no other way to go quickly on one, which is why it produces good riders.
Eleven Model Years
Yamaha has sold the R3 since 2015 with a mid-life restyle and no change to the braking architecture. One part covers the whole run.
No Stored Fault
The eliminator presents the circuit the ECU expects. Nothing is masked and nothing sits in the background waiting to be read at the next service.
Nothing Cut
Yamaha's own connector. The module refits whenever the bike goes back to the road and the loom is untouched throughout.
A First Race Bike
More riders start club racing on an R3 than on anything else. It is cheap to run, cheap to crash and it does not flatter anybody into thinking they are quicker than they are.
