DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MT-07 Moto Cage was Yamaha's caged special edition of its twin-cylinder naked, sold from 2015 to 2017 with a protective cage framing the bodywork. Underneath it is an MT-07, and Accossato lists the same AGPA97 front pad for it. This version, the AGPA97OR, uses the Organic (OR) compound, a choice for owners who ride their Moto Cage around town, to work or to the café and want a quiet, disc-friendly front brake.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage, model years 2015 to 2017
- Article AGPA97OR in the Organic (OR) compound
- Accossato cites long performance and reduced disc wear
- Suited to town use, short trips and a bike that is ridden gently
- Two pads per box, covering one caliper
- The Moto Cage has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed
- The AGPA97 shape is also sold as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE available; offered for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
This AGPA97 is pressed from Accossato's organic material. The company states that the compound gives a long working life and limits wear on the disc. On a special edition like the Moto Cage, which many owners keep in good condition, preserving the original discs is a reasonable priority. Accossato also designs its pads to avoid excessive heat and resist fade, although in town riding that rarely comes into play.
Looking After a Special Edition
A Moto Cage is not a common bike, and owners tend to treat it accordingly. Many are ridden in short bursts around the city, parked for a while, then taken out again. That pattern favours an organic pad: it works immediately on a cold disc, it is quiet in slow traffic, and it wears the disc gently. If the bike has stood for a few weeks, check the discs for surface rust before riding and make a couple of soft stops to clean them. Look at the pistons as well, because a caliper that sits unused can stick slightly. Keeping the brakes in good order is part of keeping a limited edition in the condition it deserves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA97 for the front of the Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage for 2015 to 2017, and the AGPP88 for its rear caliper. The Moto Cage uses two front calipers, so plan for two boxes and replace the pads on both sides together. Clean the pistons before retracting them, check disc thickness and surface, and inspect the fluid. Accossato does not list discs for the Moto Cage specifically. After fitting, pump the lever until firm and bed in the pads with gentle stops.
Road Approval
No German ABE, test report or approval mark exists in our records for this pad. The AGPA97OR is therefore offered for racing and competition use.
