DescriptionThe whole story▼
Supermoto-style bikes feel at home on karting circuits, and the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is no exception. Tight hairpins, short straights and grippy asphalt make these small tracks a favourite place to practise body position and braking, often on open days where riders share the circuit in small groups. Speeds stay low, but so does the margin for error in a slow turn, and gentle low-sides are part of the scene. For the Dorsoduro 750 of 2008 to 2016, Accossato lists the PF031: two black front axle sliders combining aluminium and plastic.
Key Features
- Accossato PF031 front axle sliders for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, 2008 to 2016
- Two pieces: one for the left, one for the right
- Aluminium and plastic, supplied in black
- Accossato includes spacers, screws and all mounting parts
- Meant to meet the ground before the fork and axle area in a fall
- Also for this bike: PP011 rear sliders and TP052 crash pads
- No German ABE on file; for circuit and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium and plastic are the two materials Accossato names for the PF031, and the finish is black. The set holds two protectors, so each side of the front wheel gets its own, and the manufacturer says the spacers, screws and everything else required for installation are part of the kit. On a kart track the reason for fitting them is plain to see: in a slow slide, front sliders are meant to take the first contact with the asphalt, which can reduce the harm done to the lower fork and the area around the axle.
A Day on a Karting Circuit
Karting tracks are narrow and twisty, which suits the Dorsoduro 750's wide bar and upright seating position. Many organisers split their bike days into groups by experience, with short sessions and long breaks, and they tend to expect taped or removed lights and mirrors, full leathers and a bike in sound condition. Read the rules before you book, because they differ from track to track. Start each session calmly, as kart circuits are often dusty in the morning and tyres need time to come up to temperature. Most falls happen in the slowest corner, from too much front brake with the bike leaned over or a foot put down too early. After a spill the bike usually slides only a short distance, though it may reach a kerb or the tyre wall. Before your next outing, check the sliders, levers and footrests, spin the front wheel to see that nothing rubs, and swap any slider that has cracked.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the PF031 for the Dorsoduro 750 from 2008 to 2016, and we have linked it to the bike for exactly those years. The same black sliders are shown in our shop for the Caponord 1200 and the Shiver 900, among others. To protect more than the front of your Dorsoduro 750, Accossato offers the PP011 rear axle sliders and the TP052 crash pads for this model.
Road Approval
On our side there is no documentation such as a German ABE or a test certificate for the PF031. That is why we offer it for circuit riding and competition.
