DescriptionThe whole story▼
Öhlins lists part number DMX 0310 for one machine: the GasGas EC 450F built 2024–2025. Standard rear dampers are built to a price; this one is built to a specification.
Key Features
- Öhlins length specification: 457 mm
- Stroke: 137 mm
- Direct fitment on the GasGas EC 450F (2024–2025)
About the TTX Flow DV Range
A motocross track feeds the rear damper the same impact twenty times a lap; what matters is whether the twentieth feels like the first, and that is exactly what the pressurised circuits protect. Compression and rebound run as separate, permanently pressurised circuits — the twin-tube principle — so neither can starve the other on a fast series of hits. Öhlins supplies a baseline setting for each part number, established on the machine it is listed against.
Why This Machine Needs It
Enduro use means long days, hot oil and terrain that changes every hundred metres.
Damping Performance
The unit measures 457 mm installed, which is the dimension the EC 450F's linkage expects. The recommended oil is 1304; using something else changes the damping the shim stack was set for. Stroke is 137 mm, which is the travel Öhlins has to work with on this linkage. The two adjusters do genuinely separate jobs, which is what makes methodical setup possible. The adjuster range is usable end to end rather than only around the middle.
Materials and Manufacture
Every unit is dyno-tested against the curve held for its part number, not sampled from a batch. Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one. The Öhlins part number is stamped on the unit, so its specification can be looked up years later.
Fitment and Compatibility
The fitment stated here is the GasGas EC 450F in its 2024–2025 form, under Öhlins part number DMX 0310. Because the settings are model-specific, fitting it to a related machine would mean running the wrong specification. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock. *Replaced by DMX 1310*
Road Approval
Road approval: no documented status for the GasGas EC 450F. Get in touch before ordering if the machine is to stay road legal.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its suspension is fitted by an authorised service centre. We are one, and we do the work here: installation, servicing and a proper setup. Ask us and we will include it with the order.
