The JP ES 012 stops the Panigale V4 R flagging a rear lamp failure when the standard tail assembly has been replaced as part of a rear end conversion.

What the Circuit Watches
Ducati monitors the rear lighting for current draw and reports a failure when it disappears. Removing the tail unit for a track day is enough to trigger it, which is the entire reason this connector exists.
What It Does Not Do
It has no influence on the indicators, the brake light switch or the number plate lamp, each of which is monitored on its own circuit.
On a Panigale
The tail unit is a structural part of the seat section, and the connector for it sits where it can be reached without disturbing the subframe.
Nothing Else Is Affected
Indicators, brake light and number plate lamp each sit on their own monitored circuit and are unaffected by what happens at the tail connector.
A Clean Panel
One warning gone means the next one is visible when it arrives, which is worth more than the part costs on any motorcycle used seriously.
Keep the Original
The standard tail unit and its fasteners belong bagged and labelled. An inspection or a resale is straightforward if they are to hand and awkward if they are not.
A Warning That Hides Others
The practical cost of leaving it lit is not the light itself but what sits behind it. A machine with a permanent lighting warning gives no clear signal when something else appears, and on a fast road that is the wrong trade for the sake of a connector.
