DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Hypermotard 950 RVE with an aligned-pattern right-hand switch block, cut from Ergal 7075.
Key Features
- Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE (2019–2025)
- Aligned hole pattern
- Complete street control set
- Black or titanium anodising
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
The Aligned Arrangement
Two bolts on a single axis. Which pattern a motorcycle needs comes down to its master cylinder clamp, and that is a question the handlebar answers rather than the paperwork.
Quoted as a Whole
Ducati does not list the individual switches. The complete block is the unit of replacement, which is why a machined alternative is a comparison between two assemblies rather than a premium.
An Electrolytic Finish
The black is converted into the aluminium rather than applied to it. Nothing sits proud of the surface, so there is nothing to chip when a boot catches the bar end in a paddock.
Oxidation, Not Wear
Switch mechanisms almost never wear out. The terminal underneath corrodes after water has sat against it, and the symptom shows up months later as something intermittent.
Twenty Minutes and No Splices
Two fasteners and a plug. The harness is not touched at any point, which means nothing has been created for a future owner or a workshop to discover.
Repeatable Dimensions
A cut part is the same on the last unit of a run as on the first. Moulding tools wear and the tolerance drifts with them, which is invisible until something no longer sits square.
Paint, Not Vinyl
The RVE's graffiti scheme is applied in a multi-stage painting process. It costs more to produce and it survives mileage that a wrap would not have survived.
Extended Rather Than Limited
Ducati intended the RVE as a restricted run and kept building it because demand did not stop. It became the version most people picture when they think of a 950.
A Quickshifter as Standard
The RVE includes the bidirectional unit. With this much torque it gets used at every junction rather than saved for a track day.
